Merit Scholarships

Merit Scholarships are another form of available gift aid and are highly sought after from colleges. If a college has merit scholarships available, they are typically awarded to students at the time of admission. During the admission review process, the relative strengths of students are compared and merit scholarship recipients are determined accordingly. However, even though that is the standard way that merit scholarships are determined and awarded, students should check with the individual colleges that they have applied to see if merit scholarships are available, and if so, how awards are determined.
